Building to the keynote
IO spends the first half of the month teasing “something magical,” posting Foxite light patterns and poetic captions with no hardware in frame, while Vulpine Dynamics finishes the PWRBND in private and he writes the single in the studio.
PWR UP: LIVE I
May 22–24, invitation only. IO Fox unveils the PWRBND on stage with its Torch Mode and Grab Mode, and debuts PAWS UP 4 TMRW live. Attendees describe the night as “transcendent.” The PWRBND Founders Program opens for sign-ups immediately afterward.
The single follows on May 26, with a video built from footage shot at the event.
The peak
The back end of the month is the highest the era has reached. IO tours gyms, schools, and media outlets with a “science as magic” pitch. The PWR UP salute is by now a universal gesture in Talaris, used sincerely by people with no connection to the music. Founders Program demand runs well past what the Foxite supply can meet.
Nothing in May reads as a warning at the time. The accounts being filed as glowing testimonials this month are, in retrospect, the first of the reports that start arriving in June.
